Summary/Objective:
The
Marketing Manager at The Yunion is responsible for expanding the organization’s
brand presence through strategic relationship building, innovative marketing
campaigns, and alignment with community outreach initiatives. This role
requires a dynamic, creative leader who can coordinate with The Yunion’s
Director of Innovation and Strategy and the Community Outreach Coordinator to
ensure that all external communication and marketing efforts reflect and
promote the mission, vision, and goals of The Yunion. The Marketing Manager
will play a key role in enhancing public awareness, increasing engagement, and
driving participation in the organization’s programs and services.
Essential
Functions:
Brand
Expansion and Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement
marketing strategies that expand The Yunion’s brand visibility locally
and nationally.
- Build and sustain
relationships with media outlets, influencers, local businesses, funders,
and community organizations to promote The Yunion’s work and impact.
- Collaborate with leadership
and program directors to ensure consistent messaging across platforms.
- Pursue sponsorships and
partnerships that align with The Yunion’s mission.
Digital
Campaigns and Content Creation
- Create and manage campaigns
across digital, print, and social media channels to highlight programs,
success stories, and funding needs.
- Partner with the webmaster to
keep The Yunion’s website engaging and current.
- Develop content for email,
social media, and newsletters, focusing on storytelling and community
engagement.
- Track and analyze metrics to
adjust and optimize strategies.
Community
Outreach Alignment
- Coordinate with the Community
Outreach Coordinator to promote events and gather community feedback.
- Execute marketing strategies
that maximize event visibility and attendance.
- Collaborate on community
surveys, feedback loops, and initiatives to integrate community voices
into the brand's narrative.
Event
and Public Relations Support
- Lead the marketing and
promotion efforts for The Yunion’s events, such as fundraisers, community
workshops, and youth development programs, ensuring materials and
messaging align with The Yunion’s brand.
- Act as the main contact for
media inquiries, draft press releases, and cultivate media relationships.
- Attend and represent The
Yunion at key community and industry events, acting as a brand
ambassador.
- Draft press releases, media
advisories, and statements as needed.
- Build and nurture
relationships with journalists and bloggers to secure coverage in
relevant publications.
Donor
Relations and Funding Outreach
- Develop and execute strategic
outreach initiatives to build long-term donor relationships, including
donor appreciation events, recognition programs, and personalized
communication.
- Design and implement
fundraising and donor communication campaigns that highlight the impact
of donor contributions, promoting Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and
other opportunities for support.
- Collaborate with program
directors to prepare reports and other assets that showcase program
results and the impact of donor contributions.
Content
Creation and Design
- Oversee the production of
marketing materials that reflect The Yunion’s brand identity and resonate
with its communities.
- Manage design and content
creation to produce culturally relevant and high-quality collateral.
Required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in
Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related
field.
- 3-5 years of experience in
marketing, communications, or a similar role, ideally within the
nonprofit or community-focused sector.
- Demonstrated success in
building brand awareness and managing multichannel marketing campaigns
(digital, social, print).
- Experience developing content
for email marketing, newsletters, and social media.
- Collaboration experience with
teams or external partners, including media and community organizations.
- Strong understanding of social
media platforms, content strategy, and digital advertising.
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills to produce clear, engaging, and consistent
messaging.
- Proven ability to analyze
marketing metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach and engagement.
Work
Environment
This
position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely
uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing
cabinets and fax machines.
Physical
Demands
This
is a primarily sedentary role; however, there will be lifting of files, opening
of filing cabinets and frequent bending or standing.
Expected
Hours of Work
Standard
working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one
hour unpaid lunch hour. Schedules may vary based on company needs and some late
evenings and weekend hours are required.
Travel
Local,
regional, and occasional national travel is required for this position.
