The Digital Media Intern will support visual content production through photography and video creation for digital platforms. This role provides hands-on experience in event coverage, branded content development, and short-form video production.
Essential Functions
● Capture high-quality photo and video content at events and activations
● Edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other platforms
● Assist in creating branded visual content aligned with marketing campaigns
● Organize and maintain digital media files
● Collaborate with the Digital Media and Social Media teams to execute visual strategy
Required Experience
● Current college student majoring in Digital Media, Film, Multimedia, Communications, or related field, with college credit required.
● Must be a Detroit resident
● Proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, Canva, etc.)
● Strong visual storytelling skills and attention to detail
● Portfolio or work samples required
● Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel locally
● Must have access to personal camera equipment (DSLR or mirrorless preferred) and basic editing software
Equipment & Liability
Interns using personal equipment are responsible for the care, maintenance, and insurance of their own devices. The organization is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of personal equipment used during internship activities.
Supervisor Responsibility
The digital media intern will not have direct reports but will provide guidance, and support to ensure alignment with organizational goals, foster professional development, and maintain high performance standards within the leadership team.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Expected Hours of Work
For this part-time position, the person is expected to work up to 20 hours per week, generally scheduled between Monday and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A one-hour unpaid lunch break will be provided for shifts extending beyond five consecutive hours. Work schedules may vary based on company needs, and occasional late evening and weekend hours may be required.
Travel
Local travel is required for this position. Mileage reimbursement will not be provided.
