Position Overview
The Director of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships will be
responsible for planning, directing, and organizing all fundraising activities
for The Yunion, with a targeted goal of raising $1 million annually through
corporate and individual giving, as well as special and innovative projects and
partnerships. This individual will report directly to the Executive Director
and lead the organization’s strategic fund development initiatives, including
annual, major, and capital campaign giving; event planning; corporate
partnerships; donor stewardship and recognition programs; and fee-for-service
and residual income strategies.
The director will also leverage content creation and storytelling to
enhance funding opportunities, ensuring that marketing, communications, and
public relations efforts are aligned with development goals. Additionally, they
will play a critical role in designing and implementing strategies to secure
funding for The Yunion’s transformative programs and initiatives.
Essential Functions
○ Develop Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) for all fundraising operations
○ Prepare and implement an annual fundraising
plan with short- and long-range goals to meet resource needs
○ Implement fundraising tactics such as
direct mail, online giving, events, and grant proposals
○ Expand the prospective donor base at all
levels of giving capacity
○ Oversee donor recognition and stewardship
strategies
○ Ensure timely and accurate recording of
donor information in the database
○ Prepare and manage an annual development
budget
○ Cultivate relationships with major,
campaign, and planned giving donors
○ Develop and execute gift solicitations
aligned with The Yunion’s mission
○ Oversee stewardship and recognition
strategies for significant donors
○ Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to
create materials supporting fundraising initiatives
○ Cast a vision for building unrestricted
funding and support in partnership with the Director of Innovation and Strategy
○ Establish and implement strategy for fee-
for-service and product based revenue generating initiatives
○ Foster relationships within the
philanthropic, corporate, and business communities in order to cultivate
financial support of the organization through grants, sponsorships, and other
giving programs.

Required Education and Experience
○ Required Education and Experience
○ Master’s Degree in Business Administration,
Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field preferred
○ Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management,
communications, administration, public
relations, or related field required
○ 7-10 years of progressively responsible
experience in fundraising or development, with a proven track record of
successful revenue generation, grant writing, and donor engagement, ideally in
a nonprofit setting.
○ Proven experience in grant writing,
administration, and financial reporting
○ Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal
communication skills for effective donor and community engagement
○ Proficiency with CRM and Fundraising
Software: Familiarity with platforms for donor tracking and relationship
management.
Supervisor
Responsibility
The Director will not have direct reports but will
provide guidance, and support to ensure alignment with organizational goals,
foster professional development, and maintain high performance standards within
the leadership team.
Work
Environment
This position operates in a professional office
environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical
Demands
This is a primarily sedentary role; however, there
will be lifting of files, opening of filing cabinets and frequent bending or
standing.
Expected
Hours of Work
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one hour unpaid lunch hour. Schedules may
vary based on company needs and some late evenings and weekend hours are
required.
Travel
Local, Regional, and occasional National travel is
required for this position.

Pay: $95,000 - $115,000
